Another Project to pass the time.
This project was based on Victorian sashes that usually were made of silks and were boned down the front to maintain structure, closing in the back with hook and eyes or lacing. I'm quite tired of lacing cause of how long it takes but maybe eventually when I outgrow the waist I'll replace it.
A gorgeous two-toned silk with florals. I found these scraps at school, they were used in a production I helped dress, but a lot of the leftover fabric gets bagged and I don't know what happens to it.
Herringbone stitches. Not showing the hook and eyes cause of how messy the boning turned out on the ends.
Finished. Took a lot more time because of how thin the original strips were and had to piece them together.
I'm considering doing a bow of some kind on the back, or roses on the front but I do like the look of the folds on the front. The back being undecorated makes sitting a lot more comfortable, but a bow on a snap could work.
Till the next project. - KYS
